I’ve spent most of my carees as a photographer and content creator, and somewhere along the way, coaching for creatives became a natural extension of the work.
If you’d asked me ten years ago whether I’d call myself a coach, I probably would’ve laughed, deflected, and gone back to whatever I was building at the time.
Not because I didn’t believe in coaching—but because I didn’t realise that’s what I’d been doing all along.
This post is me putting a name (and structure) to something that has been a constant thread throughout my life: helping people think clearly, untangle ideas, and move forward with intention. The difference now is that I’m offering this work professionally—and yes, as a paid service.
Still very much in the trenches. Just with clearer signposting.
Why This Was Inevitable
I’ve always been the person people talk at when things feel messy.
Friends. Clients. Creatives mid-identity shifts. Founders juggling vision, income, doubt, and about twelve open browser tabs.
My role was rarely to “fix” things. Instead, I listened. Asked better questions. Helped organise raw thoughts into something usable. Created a space where people could think out loud without being judged, rushed, or interrupted.
At some point, it became obvious: this wasn’t accidental. It was a skill.
Making this official doesn’t change the work—it simply gives it structure, boundaries, and sustainability. It allows me to show up fully for the people I help, while continuing to do the creative work that keeps me honest.
And yes—charging for it means I can give it the time and attention it deserves.
Who I Work With (Because I Am One of You)
My coaching and consulting work is focused on Creatives, Founders, and Artists.
That’s not a niche—it’s my lived reality.
My company is Julius Jooste – Fine Artist & Content Creator. I’m an active Fine Art Photographer, Web & Graphic Designer, and Content Creator. I build brands, design websites, create visual identities, ship work internationally, negotiate with clients, manage tech stacks, and wrestle with the same questions most creatives do:
- How do I make this sustainable?
- How do I price my work?
- How do I stay creatively alive and solvent?
- How do I stop feeling behind when I’m objectively competent?
I don’t coach from theory. I coach from inside the work.
I’ve also spent years working closely with business owners and founders—people who’ve stepped away from the safety of a salary and into the responsibility of self-employment. That shift demands more than strategy. It requires emotional regulation, decision-making under uncertainty, and a mindset that doesn’t collapse when things wobble (because they always do).
If you’re building something—yourself, your practice, or your business—and feel capable yet under-supported, you’re likely in the right place.
What I Help With: Coaching for Creatives & Founders
My coaching sits at the intersection of personal development, creativity, and technology.
If it helps, think of me as someone who uses software—data, systems, information—to solve hardware problems in real life.
I’ve been doing this with computers for as long as I can remember. Somewhere along the way, I realised the same principles apply to people.
So our sessions might include:
- Creative direction and clarity
- Personal development and mindset work
- Technology and systems that support your work (not overwhelm it)
- Business structure for creatives
- Decision-making, focus, and energy management
- Translating abstract ideas into actionable steps
Sometimes the problem looks psychological. Sometimes it looks technical. Usually, it’s both.
This is especially relevant for creatives who are also expected to be marketers, strategists, operators, and administrators—often without being taught how any of that fits together.

Where This Work Happens
At present, coaching sessions take place online via Google Meet.
This keeps things accessible and flexible, especially for clients working across time zones.
I do plan to host in-person workshops and small group sessions in the future. When those happen, they’ll be announced intentionally—no vague promises, no pressure.
How to Begin (Without Making It a Big Thing)
A good place to start is the Readiness Quiz on my website.
It’s designed to give you a clear picture of where you currently are—creatively, mentally, and practically. It also helps me understand how (and whether) I can support you in a meaningful way.
From there, you can browse the various coaching and consulting options available at juliusjooste.com/services and see what resonates.
No funnels pretending to be conversations. No forced urgency. Just clarity.
Wrapping It Up
I didn’t wake up one day and decide to become a coach.
I woke up one day and realised I already was one—and that it was time to do it properly, alongside the creative work I continue to do every day.
If you’re a creative, founder, or artist navigating growth, uncertainty, or transition—and you want support from someone who’s actively building too—you’re welcome here.

We’ll take it from there.
